THE ROAD TO YESTERYEAR

Along the road of memories
That lead me straight to you
I linger for a little while
Upon a dream or two.

I remember the day we met
The day we said goodbye,
The joys, the tears, the hope, the fears
And I can only sigh.

If I could have it all again
I wonder what I’d do
And if I’d be so different then
And what my love of you?

I see the smile I loved so well
Feel your breath upon my cheek
Caress our love with all my heart
Such memory I seek.

Along the road of yesteryear
I wave and say goodbye
And turn and walk back down the path
Where love can never die.
