SHATTERED EARTH
                      POLLUTION

The key word today is pollution
It destroys our rivers and bays,
The fish and sea grass are dying
'We must do something'
They say.
Pollution has smothered our airways
Darkened the sky with a haze,
'Stop all the backyard burning
And the sewerage that goes in the bay.'

But what of the pollution of children
Young minds confused with filth
That flows from the pens of writers
And pictures that have no guilt.

Long after the sea and the airways
Are clear of all debris and dirt,
The minds of our children will suffer
Unless we consider the hurt.

Think of the purity of nature
A world that God has ordained,
Where love and peace and beauty
Has no need to be profaned.
