SHADOWS

Shadows fall across my path
And the constant yearning of my heart
Remind me that you've gone from me
Too far for human eyes to see.

But when I fall on bended knee
And lift my heart for God to see
He lightens the shadows of my path
So that I find a way to thee.

Not through sight, nor sound, nor touch
But through the soul's sweet mystery
Which reaches out in silent prayer
And then my darling I know you're there
Happy, free and guiding me
Until the day, your face I'll see.
