I dreamed a dream when I was young
That love would rule the world
And in that dream
There was no place
Where hate, nor greed unfurled.
I saw a land where beauty reigned
And man and beast walked free
Upon the earth which God ordained
His gift to you and me.
The years have stolen now my youth
And dreams are never free
For life is a gift for man to earn
And love the recipe.
