TWO  LONELY  PEOPLE

Two lonely people

Sitting by the door

Watching others dancing

On the crowed floor.

The nearness of each other

Trying to ignore

Watching others dancing

On the crowded floor.

Two lonely people

Too shy to make a move

The fear of rejection

If their move is not approved.

They feel the body language

And the silence of their thoughts

But the space between them widens

They don’t know how to talk.

The band is playing music

The rhythm’s in the air

The crooner’s singing love songs

That burn the silent pair.

Two lonely people

Sitting by the door

Watching others dancing

On the crowed floor.
