TEARS UPON MY PILLOW
I woke up early this morning
I knew that something was wrong,
And the sunbeams on the ceiling
Reminded me of you.
I put out my arm to touch you
But darling the bed space was cold
And my heart, I thought it was breaking
I only wanted you to hold.
Tears upon my pillow
Shattered dreams that haunt the night
Fears that come the morning
You will have walked out of my life.
Sunbeams on the ceiling
Dance to the rhythm of my heart
And like candle flames dying
I await again the dark.
Tears upon my pillow
Shattered dreams that haunt the night
Fears that come the morning
You will have walked out of my life.
I put out my arm to touch you
But darling the bed space was cold
And my heart, I thought it was breaking
I only wanted you to hold.
Sunbeams on the ceiling
Dance to the rhythm of my heart
And like candle flames dying
I await again the dark.
Tears upon my pillow
Fears that haunt throughout the night
Hurt that never leaves me
Since you walked out of my life.
