COLLIE BEST DOG
AT LEETON SHOW-

     Judge: Roy Burnell.

LEETON Agricultural, Society's second Championship Show showed an improvement of 10 dogs on their first effort, and the best exhibit in show was an outstanding young Collie, Myoene Jenny Lee, owned by Mr. And Mrs. R. Wooden, of Wagga Wagga.
    
This one accounted for Best Junior, best Australian bred and best open awards, in addition to the Working Group.
     Runner-up and Best Gundog exhibit- was Mr. and Mrs A. Martin's Kerrisdale Creamshot, an upstanding yellow Labrador that has previously won similar honours.
    Best Intermediate was the Australian terrier, Ch. Tinee Town Trica, owned by Taggalong kennels, who was also best Terrier.
     Best puppy in show went to -the sweepstake winner, Chevalier Debonair. Mrs. J. Harris' Basset Hound, while best Minor Puppy was the runner-up in Terrier Group, Dormits Dornlee, Mr. A. Strickland's Smooth Fox Terrier.
     Of the under Six months exhibits J. M. and J. D. Griffith's Welsh Corgi Carbeth Felicia Rose, was the main selection.
    

PORTLAND & DIST.
Conducted for the second year the Championship Dog Show drew 230 entries compared with 90 last year.
For the Judging, the ring usually reserved for cattle was taken over and, with thc adjoining shed, proved much superior to the previous site.
    
The judge was Mr. W. R. McLaughlan, Petersham, the chief steward,.Mr. R Page, and the Kennel Club representative, Mr. G. Lidden
Entered by the Glendowning Kennels, Wagga a Collie Myoene Jenny Lee, was the Open Champion

Australia’s Top Pug Wins At Portland
CH. AUREATE- CHINA SON, Australia's top winning Pug, again added a. best-in-show award to his long record of wins at Portland and District All Breeds Kennel Club's inaugural show.
     This, dog, owned by Mrs. G. Lord was produced in wonderful condition and spirit and was an all-the-way! winner.
     Runner-up was that promising Collie Myoene Jenny Lee, which was recently Best In Show at Leeton for Mr. and Mrs. R. Wooden of Wagga. This one was also best Junior and best Working Dog.
